Bio
Passion for sailing, and keeping our river beautiful
Sailing has been a big part of my life. I started racing in Hood River, OR over 6 years ago. I bought my first sailboat, a Santana 22, in 2015 and fell in love. I traded up for a 30' racer/cruiser at the end of 2015, and took weekly outings with family and friends out of the Hood River marina. During this time I also raced on J27s and learned a lot about sailing, and sailing fast in all wind conditions. Getting out multiple times a week to sail was the highlight of my summers for those years. That is, until I had an encounter with a rock, 5' below the surface of the water, which I happened to tack right on top of, thereby solidly smacking the bottom 2" of my keel and causing structural damage to the hull. I sailed her back into the marina but all was not well. Insurance eventually called her a total loss, and after much negotiation we settled, and I purchased her back. This is the unlikely start of how I sailed into the business of salvaging boats.
5 years and over 100 boats later... I am just getting started.
